Haikou People’s Hospital is the only modern comprehensive tertiary public municipal hospital in Haikou. In 2003 the hospital became the Haikou Affiliated Hospital of Central South University Xiangya School of Medicine, and in 2016 became a Friendship Hospital of Fudan University Huashan Hospital. The hospital has 1700 beds with capacity for 1950 beds, 40 clinical departments, 13 ancillary departments and 6 integrated outpatient clinics. The hospital has more than 3,156 employees, annual volume exceeding 48,000 inpatients and over 1,040,000 visits to outpatient and emergency departments. The hospital has 3 National Key Clinical Specialty Departments, 2 Hainan Province Key Clinical Specialty Departments and 3 Hainan Province Specially Supported Specialty Departments. 海口市人民医院是海口市属唯一的现代化大型综合性三级甲等医院，2003年成为中南大学湘雅医学院附属海口医院，2016年成为复旦大学附属华山医院合作医院。 医院编制床位1700张，实际开放床位1950张，设有40个临床科室、13个医技科室和6个综合门诊部，现有职工3156余人，医院年住院病人4.8万余人次，门急诊病人约104万人次。医院有3个国家临床重点专科，2个海南省医学重点学科，3个海南省重点扶持优势特色专科。
